What a great turnout! We're so excited that all of you came out to our first meeting. If you didn't get a handout at tonight's meeting, you should receive a copy in your Inbox later tonight. As mentioned at the meeting, we will be holding another informational meeting next Wednesday, May 13 at 6pm. Please tell all your YMCA friends who couldn't make it today!
Please make sure to sign-up as a follower of the blog. This way, an email will be automatically sent to you everytime there is a new post. Also, feel free to leave comments after any of the posts. Tell us what you want to plant, what you want to learn about, ideas you have for the garden, or anything else you'd like to share. We want to hear from you!

Thanks for the links, Joan! The beds made with concrete blocks described in the Simple Green Frugle Co-op blog are very interesting. If we can get the materials, we'll have to try it out. I think corn will do well in the deeper soil.
ReplyDeletegreat, catherine! check out this blog too. i know the author, julia posey, a very cool neighbor and friend. i just sent julia a long email all about the project asking her to write a post on her blog. I'll give her a call too and talk to her about the project.

ReplyDeleteHi, Megan! To participate in the Community Garden, all you need is to be a member of the South Pasadena San Marino YMCA. You can contact us through the Y once you're back. Currently, we don't have a waiting list and are trying our best to accomodate anyone and everyone who is interested. Sure hope you move back to South Pasadena...it's my hometown, too!
ReplyDeleteHi, Christine! Thanks for stopping by last Wednesday. After assigning you to the box, we did have some other members who came by who had previously participated in the workday building boxes. Don't worry though! We will be building more boxes this week. If you can come by on Wednesday and help with construction, that would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteHello All! I am an intern at the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City and we are developing resources for a Community Garden of our own. I would like any information you have on the subject and how you all got started. Thank you!
